How can I help people who are digitally excluded?
Whether you are an organisation, a business or individual, you can help by having your excess equipment and devices securely reused.
Local organisations can use the following:
- Laptops
- Computer monitors
- Mice
- Keyboards
- Tablets
- Smartphones
- Smartspeakers
- Mobile Wi-Fi Hubs
However, all tech can be handled by our partner, Sustainable Tech 4 Good (ST4G), including server and networking equipment, and will benefit the digitally excluded.
Once tech is collected by ST4G, who are data-security experts, they ensure that every item is processed to the highest standards of security and sustainability. This includes:
- Certified data erasure to HMG Infosec 5 Enhanced Standard (equivalent to Department of Defence 5220.22-M)
- Certified physical destruction options for data-bearing devices that cannot be securely erased, such as SSD shredding and HDD degaussing
- Refurbishment and testing so equipment can be safely reused
- CSR and Sustainability reporting for businesses and organisations
This process ensures that your excess tech helps reduce e-waste through reuse and supports digital inclusion by redistributing technology to schools, individuals, and community organisations.
For individuals or organisations with small amounts of tech Cambridge Online can accept this directly to collate for collection by ST4G.
Please contact them to arrange a drop off: 01223 800450 or email [email protected]
