CDP network event – Tuesday 7 Feb, 2023

Cambridgeshire Digital Partnership (CDP) have hosted their first network meeting of 2023 and would like to share some highlights.

Update from CDP

We opened the event with a short update about the partnership, to let attendees know that instead of having a separate steering group, all decisions and conversations would now take place during the quarterly network meetings. The partnership would continue to be overseen by CCVS with an annual conference taking place in October.

Updates from attendees

We heard from, Rose Charlton-Peel, CEO at Cambridge Online; Sue Reynolds, Community Investment Service Manager at CHS Group; Sue Gowling, Founder of Laptops 4 Learning; James Lewis, Community Connector, Places for People: Home; and Matilda Becker from Cambridge Ahead.

  • Cambridge Online shared information about upcoming projects, including opening their main learning hub as a warm space until the end of March.
  • Cambridge Ahead highlighted that they will be launching a new Digital Exclusion Task and Finish Group, which has since been shared publicly. Conversations are ongoing in relation to ways to work together to tackle digital exclusion.
  • Laptops 4 Learning continue to take tech from businesses and repair and refurbish it, making it sustainable and plug-and-play ready for use in addressing digital poverty.
Update from guest speaker

CDP were delighted to welcome Jason Tutin, Digital Inclusion Manager from 100% Digital Leeds.

The 100% Digital Leeds programme is led by the digital inclusion team in the Integrated Digital Service (IDS) at Leeds City Council and Leeds Health and Care Partnership NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.

They feature in this three-minute video from BBC Look North.

Jason spoke to us about their work across Leeds, including their recently published model for a community-based approach to digital inclusion, that brings together key partners to design digital inclusion interventions based on the needs of a particular community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The next CDP network meeting will be on Zoom, Thursday 27 April @ 4pm.

Reserve your spot via Eventbrite.
